Nigeria are 10/1 to win group D at the World Cup 2018

World Cup 10 June 2018

Argentina, fancied by many to win the group, have been in poor form of late. At 10/1 we feel this could a good time to back 'the super eagles'.

Do you know in which World Cup that Nigeria qualified for did The Eagles not meet Argentina?

World Cup 1998

Argentina are currently the bookies' favourites to top this group, with Croatia just behind. Argentina only just qualified for the World Cup after a Messi inspired victory over Ecuador in the final game of the qualifications.

They head to the tournament off the back of a 4-0 victory over Haiti and a 6-1 humiliation at the hands of Spain (Messi was not playing).

Croatia made it to the World Cup via the playoffs, beating Greece 4-1 over two matches. They have recently beaten Senegal 2-1 and lost to Brazil 2-0.

Iceland drew 2-2 with Ghana this week but previous results have been less encouraging; losing 3-2 to Norway, 3-1 to Peru and 3-0 to Mexico.

So, what do the bookies think about Nigeria winning Group D?
