Croatia edged past Russia, in their second penalty shoot-out in a row. The Croatian's looked visibly exhausted after having played the second 120 minute match in six days. The Croat's were impressive in the group stage beating Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland. However in the last-16 and quarter-final stages they needed penalties to overcome their opponents.
