Seria A

There is a romanticized image of Serie A. The one who's completely sold on Italian football often talks about the pure passion on the field and in the stands. The passion is also what makes Serie A so exciting to bet on. Internazionale and Juventus has won nine out of the last ten latest seasons, but the series is actually more even than than one might think, since there is so much talent in both the higher and on the lower end of the table. Players have a large assortment of odds to choose from in Serie A, where the winning game is the most popular. Other options for betting are double chance, number of goals scored and scorers.

On this page you will find all the necessary information and be able stay up to date on what's happening in Serie A with articles and news. Here you will also be able to find different free bet offers and campaigns that you can take advantage of when betting on Serie A. You can also check out odds for nail biting encounters in Serie A.

Facts about Seria A

The first season of Serie A was played in 1929/1930 and Internazionale was able to crown themselves italian champions. This was followed by five years of consecutive victories for Juventus, which is the team with the highest number of acquired titles in Serie A 31 in total. Runners up right behind Juventus, are the Milan teams; Internazionale and Milan with 18 titles each.

During the 1980s and 1990s most people were in agreement that Serie A was the world's best football league. Putting aside Italian football legends, a lot of other foreign players were drawn to Italy. Some of the most prominent players during this time include Maradona, Baggio, Maldini, Baresi and Zidane. During the 1980s and 90s the Italian football dominated Europe, and the best players were distributed all over the Italian boot. A lot of things has happened since then and the crown is now slanting, but the passion is still there and is impossible to ignore. After a few scandals that shook Serie A and Italy, Italian football has found its way back. For example, Juventus managed to reach the Champions League finals in the 2014/2015 season, however they could not hold back Real Madrid when it came down to it.

From a British perspective there is a long and loving relationship with Serie A. Not least thanks to legendary player John Charles (Juventus and Roma 1957-1963) nicknamed Il Gigante Buono, he was recognised as Juve’s best ever foreign signing in 1997. Liam Brady, who is for many associated with Arsenal football club, scored 15 times in 76 games during his time in Serie A.

The most successful Italian team out in Europe in the last few years is without a doubt Milan. They won the Champions finals against Juventus at Old Trafford 2002/2003 and the final against Liverpool at the Olympic Stadium 2006/2007. Besides Milan, Internazionale has also won the tournament in later years. They won the triple 2009/2010 under José Mourinho and defeated Bayern München in the Champions League finals at Santiago Bernabéu.
