A Summer Of Hope For The Three Lions
It's that time again! The FIFA World Cup has rolled around again, as a record 48 nations battle it out to take the title, won by Argentina in 2022, when hosted by Qatar.

England will hope to follow in the footsteps of Argentina's 2022 victory.
It's Coming Home?
England fans will once again pray that "It's coming home" this Summer, as Thomas Tuchel's side travel to North America for this year's edition, and there is room to continue the hope of a first win since 1966.
That optimism is fuelled by finishing runner-up at the last two Euros finals, and with it, plenty of betting on World Cup markets is expected from England fans and punters alike.

Group Stage Bets

England v Croatia has always been a tough contest, expect more of the same, this Summer!
After a successful and relatively straightforward qualifying campaign, attentions turned to the Group Stage draw and in fairness, the Three Lions got a relatively favourable draw, featuring Croatia, Ghana and Panama.
England Fixtures
- vs Croatia (19th June, 9:00pm) - AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
- vs Ghana (23rd June, 9:00pm) - Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts
- vs Panama 27th June, 10:00pm) - MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
*UK times as stated
England are strong favourites to top the group, with several bookmakers, including Sky Bet, SpreadEx and Paddy Power offering 4/11 to win, with Croatia (4/1) the next best.
To simply qualify, the Three Lions are pretty much unbackable at 1/66, and while the top two, plus best third-placed sides progress to the Round of 32 in this iteration, England-haters (and Scotland fans) may fancy the 22/1 offered by Boyle Sports to be sent home after the Group Stage.

Stage Of Elimination

Can England go all the way? Or will there be more disappointment for the Three Lions?
A popular betting market for big tournaments is the Stage of Elimination market, which offers a range of bets across all 48 nations, with punters looking to pick the round at which a side exits the World Cup.
England has faired well in recent international tournaments, finishing as runner-up in the last two Euros', and reaching the quarter-finals of the last World Cup, before being eliminated by France in 2022.

Who will get their hands on the World Cup Trophy
The final few remaining markets, concentrate on outright team and player markets.
Outright:
Spain (5/1) and France (11/2) sit as the favourites to win the World Cup outright, and despite bookmakers looking to cover themselves against a (financially) disastrous England victory, the Three Lions actually look good value for their current 7/1 odds.
If you want to cover yourself against another painful final defeat, the 3/1 currently available with multiple bookies to reach the final, offers a worthy secondary option.
Golden Boot:
The World Cup Golden Boot is awarded to the tournament's top scorer, so picking a player, who is likely to go deep into the knock-out stage seems obvious, with Kylian Mbappe (6/1) currently leading the betting, with a certain Harry Kane (7/1) not far behind.
An interest factoid here, is that no player has ever won the Golden Boot twice, although Thomas Muller and Miroslav Klose have come 1st and 2nd, so with this in mind, how about a plucky outsider bet, with a certain Erling Haaland (14/1) quite capable in front of goal for Norway.
Golden Ball:
The Golden Ball is awarded to the tournament's best player. Four of the last five winners have been creators more than pure finishers, with Zinedine Zidane, Luka Modric and Lionel Messi (twice) recent takers. This is still a relatively young market at the time of writing, with Michael Olise (6/1), the early favourite, followed by Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal all at 8/1.
Harry Kane has become quite the creative force, to add to his incredible goalscoring feats, and could certainly be in the hunt for the prize, if England go deep.
