BetStorm made landfall in the UK online sports betting market in 2021. It’s jostling for position with a host of other white-label sites that have recently launched for British punters and, while there are some significant drawbacks, it’s one of the better recent market entries.

BetStorm is at its strongest on football betting. To be honest, if you’re going to pick one area to be especially strong in the UK market, it would be football. There is a frankly fantastic selection of different matches available for pre-match and in-play betting.

We reckon the BtoBet sportsbook platform - as used by BetStorm and others - is one of the better products powering new bookies in the UK market these days. BetStorm punters can therefore wager safe in the knowledge that although this is a new site, it's already a top-quality sports betting experience.

Promotions and offers at BetStorm don’t match the suite on offer at the big established online bookmakers in the UK (we’re talking about your Paddy Powers and your Ladbrokes here), but it’s still a better effort than most other white-label sites. Of particular note are the cashback offers on football, tennis and several other sports.

We think the BetStorm sign up offer is pretty good: With only 1x wagering requirements and qualifying bets at odds as low as 1.5, you stand a good chance of turning your bonus funds into withdrawable cash.

Another big plus point is the amount of different payment methods available. We think it’s important for punters to have flexibility in the payments space so we always look to bump up the overall score for online bookies that go beyond standard debit card options.

Customer service is decent enough - live chat and email support are available.

The single biggest disappointment with Betstorm as far, is the lack of horse racing at all. Having no UK & Irish racing is quite something, for what is the UK's second most popular sport and the recent removal of US racing markets, now means race punters have no reason to visit BetStorm at all.

The BetStorm site does work fine in a mobile browser but if there’s one thing that signals that an online betting brand means business and is focussed on quality, then it’s a dedicated mobile app. Unfortunately, BetStorm does not have apps available for iPhone or Android yet.

It doesn’t really affect the actual sportsbook experience but we think the UX and design could be improved. At the moment, a lot of ProgressPlay’s sites look quite similar and they can be a little bit awkward to navigate. The stock sports photos that advertise the offers on BetStorm look a bit budget, but at least they’re funny.

If we had to pick a single thing that we like most about BetStorm, it would probably be the crazy depth of its football offering. 

The sportsbook lists a bewildering array of matches from leagues and competitions across the world, with even the most minor of matches often going in-play.

For elite-level clashes like the UEFA Champions League, there are often well over 500 different pre-match markets to choose from, including key markets for sharp footie punters like asian handicaps, corners and cards.

Football markets at BetStorm that we don’t see that often elsewhere include saves, goal kicks, and throw-ins.

There are no bet builders, but multiple, system, and chain bets are available (look out for the chain symbol on each market that can be combined with another).

We consider BetStorm to be pretty strong on tennis, as well as basketball (the NBA, NCAA and Euroleague mens and womens all get great coverage).

BetStorm is also a decent option for esports betting, with Counter Strike: GO, Dota 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty, King of Glory and Valorant matches and tournaments all open for betting.

It almost goes without saying these days that cashout is available on a wide selection of markets at BetStorm (there’s a green dollar sign icon indicating the markets where cash out is available).

While the vast majority of BetStorm’s sports offering is pretty close to the top shelf, that still doesn’t fully cover the gaping hole where BetStorm’s horse racing markets should be.

The previously covered US racing market was not nearly enough for the UK betting public. Usually with new sites we are bemoaning the fact that there’s no horse racing live streaming available, but BetStorm needs to get some racing markets up in the first place!

If you’re looking for a new site that does have a good horse racing selection (plus live streaming), you could do worse than LiveScore Bet.

In addition to a pretty decent new customer offer BetStorm does have several different existing customer offers on the go, which is more than can be said for plenty of other new white label sites in the UK market.

Cashback deals are on offer for Football, Tennis, and several other sports.

There’s also a promotion called ‘Wager Wars’, which rewards regular punters with cash bonuses.

Overall, it's not really a patch on the big boy operators in this market like Paddy Power, Betfair and Ladbrokes but, to be fair, we assume their marketing budget is magnitudes larger.

BetStorm doesn’t have dedicated apps yet, so you’ll have to make do with adding a tile to your homescreen with a link to the mobile site.

The well-optimized mobile site works perfectly well in your preferred mobile browser. If anything, the BetStorm sportsbook feels easier to navigate on the small screen.
