NetBet overview

Netbet is a popular bookie that operates in several European countries, with a licence from both the UK and Malta. Although not the most well-known bookie to many, with frequent promotions and some unique features, Netbet is definitely worth trying out for most punters looking for a good welcome offer.

Quick Verdict

To help you make a more informed decision, here is my overall rating of NetBet.

  • Responsible bookmaker, keeping ahead of regulators' requirements
  • Full to the brim with different sports to bet on
  • Good odds and high payout margin
  • Regular promotions for existing customers
NetBet withdrew their welcome offer and currently there is no bonus for signing up.

Bonuses for existing players

As a one-stop shop, the bookmaker has to keep its players happy and reward them for their loyalty. That's why NetBet has a number of existing-customer promotions you can choose from, with some updating weekly and others for a limited time.

Here is a list of the best currently running promotions on NetBet:

  1. NetBet Football boost
Boosted odds and special bets for certain hot events such as upcoming football matches.

  2. Bet £10 Get £5 Free bet
    Once a week
, if you place a £10 bet on any English League match with a 4-selection acca you will get £5 in free bets upon settlement.
You need minimum 1/2 (1.5) odds per selection and the bonus is active each week.
You have 7 days to use the free bet before it expires.
The promotion ends on 27th May 2024.
I think this is a pretty cool bonus to keep players engaged and rewarded for using the bookie. Given that the welcome bonus is £10, being able to repeatedly receive 5 quid extra to play with is great in my book!

  3. Best odds guaranteed - UK & Irish Horse Racing
After 9am each day, if you bet on a race and the starting odds are higher than yours, you will be paid out with the highest possible odds if your selection wins.

    What about the website?

Founded in 2001, NetBet has been providing betting services and has been improving for more than a decade. In short - they know their game and how to play it.

Owned by NetBet Enterprises Ltd and holding both a Maltese and a UK Gambling Commission-issued licence, the bookmaker is nothing short of secure and legitimate.

The website navigation has really improved in the past 5 years. Now I can easily find upcoming events as they are on the homepage. Placing bets is easy too, with just a few clicks of the mouse. The menus are well-arranged and intuitive to use and the colour scheme of the site doesn't strain your eyes.

The mobile website version is 'snappy' for lack of a better word. The menus load quickly and I never missed placing a bet within a few seconds due to slow speeds.

What's more, NetBet has a mobile app for Android and iOS, which is just as good as the website and is really convenient for bets on the go.

Does NetBet have a lot of betting markets to offer?

NetBet has a lot of betting options when it comes to football fixtures. Some of the most popular options are - draw no bet, first and second halves, corners, cards, first to score and anytime scorer. Sadly I haven't seen a match offer Asian handicaps. If you are looking for a bookmaker that offers Asian handicaps, you can check our review of Rhino.Bet, which is a very straightforward bookmaker, but with fewer features.

    Payout margin

Using three-way market odds from English Premier League matches I calculated the average payout margin of NetBet and made a table to see how it stacks up to the competition.

    Bookmaker payout comparisonNetBetBet365Betway
    Payout93.13%94.60%94.83%

In general, NetBet is close behind some of the biggest players in the industry and is keeping up well with them.

NetBet offers around 93.13% payout on English Premier League matches currently, which is still competitive along with the other features of the sportsbook.

    User Experience

Overall, NetBet has ensured a very smooth website and betting experience for its users. I browsed matches and placed bets without any major annoyances, which I learnt to never take as a given. So I can comfortably say you will enjoy using the site.

Searching for matches or events is super easy. The search bar is quick and uses predictive text, so you don't even have to finish typing what you sta...

Depositing funds is also quick. Be careful with the initial deposit method though, and double-check my section on how to claim the bonus. Still, NetBet has made it easy to deposit through one of the numerous methods and it doesn't take long before you can place your bets.

Placing bets is simple both on desktop and on mobile, so I have nothing to complain about here.

How good is live betting on NetBet?

I find it alright and kind of average. There is nothing fancy about it, but at least the bookie features a virtual playing field so you can follow as the game unfolds. It would be great to have access to the live stream through the sportsbook, but maybe it has to do with licensing issues.

    Odds format

NetBet allows users to change between fractional, decimal and American odd formats. Not every bookie gives this option, so NetBet gets a star from me.

    Customer support

I had a very pleasant experience with NetBet's customer support. It actually appears to be one of their strongest points, as most of the TrustPilot reviews agree with me and rate it as 5/5 stars.

NetBet offers customer support through live chat, WhatsApp messages and email.

I decided to go for live chat to save some time and I was connected to an agent within a minute at around 4pm.

The agent, Luke in my case, was very professional and quick in his responses.

I wanted to know what limits are imposed based on one's income, and from our conversation I found the monthly betting limit to be set at around 16% of my net salary.

    Betting limits?

    Stan Miller

    Stan Miller

Yes, as I hinted above, NetBet has decided to beat the regulators to it and implemented a maximum wagering amount restriction to keep players safe.

At the end of the day, betting should be something you do for fun, not as a way to earn income. It is not a good idea to try and make up for previous losses by betting large sums of money, so with these restrictions in place, you might be able to bet around 15%-20% of your monthly net salary every month. While not huge, it is still something if you enjoy the occasional punt.

I assume soon regulations might make it compulsory to implement a maximum betting amount based on the source of income and one's occupation, so it's good to see NetBet staying on top of that.

    Final Verdict

NetBet is a good bookmaker for both beginner and advanced bettors.

It boasts a very comprehensive sportsbook, with more sports and events than some of its competitors combined!

The bookmaker also offers a nice casino with plenty of games and some of the more beloved titles.

Points of improvement would be offering live streams for some games and perhaps offering an even more generous bonus!
