• Navigation

The website layout is a little old-fashioned, but works well enough, although it would be nice to not have a white background continuously staring back at me, especially on a laptop (Not ideal for tired eyes!).

Players can click on their desired sport on the left side of the screen to see more markets, while on the right is the player betslip and a few quick links for the more popular sports available.

• Making Selections & Placing Bets

Picking through the various markets for the most part is straightforward, with selections added to the betslip as you go. As more selections are added, various bet types appear, such as doubles, trebles, trixies, patents and more.

That simplicity is not so evident when using the Create A Bet function. Most bookies feature a long list of markets and selections for their bet builders, but at Quinnbet, they have decided on a drop-down menu format.

It isn't by any means a dealbreaker, but having to scroll down a list of 40-50 players to get to the one I want to place a bet on, seems a little excessive and could have been easily avoided with a more simplified list approach.

• Live Streaming

QuinnBet offers live streaming on just two sports, with horse racing and greyhounds shown live from the UK and Ireland.

Players looking to watch a live race must be logged in to their account and have placed at least a £1 bet on the race in question, with access granted via the racecard onsite.

The video quality and sound are perfectly adequate, although stream delay is a little more pronounced at times, compared to other bookies.

• Virtual Feeds

Virtual feeds if done right can help a player get an idea of what is going on in a particular event, but unfortunately QuinnBet have dropped the ball here, with a very basic set-up for players. 

An image of the relevant sporting pitch or court is shown, with a live update of the score and well, that's it. There is no animation depicting where a ball may be on the pitch on if there is a free-kick, penalty or other important incident, which makes this a little pointless, other than providing a live score.

QuinnBet's mobile app is arguably the best way to access their sportsbook and casino service. On iOS and Android, the app is quick, easy to use and filled with all the functions associated with the desktop version.

The app is built by FSBtech, a specialist in gambling technology, who has worked with the likes of Fitzdares, NairaBet and The Pools, with their knowledge and expertise clear to see on the app.

Placing bets is again as straightforward as its desktop version, with any added selection placed on the betslip at the bottom of the screen, which can be shown or hidden as the user needs. As multiple selections are added to the betslip, more betting types are instantly available, with all the usual doubles, trebles, accas and Lucky 15s available 

Create A Bet is much more refined on mobile, compared to its desktop alternative. The drop-down menu is replaced by a list that appears onscreen, making selections easier and quicker, which is a nice quality-of-life amendment.

Overall the mobile apps are genuinely excellent to use, with the only downvote coming from the lack of live streaming of racing. On desktop I am able to watch a horse or greyhound race, if I have placed a bet (min £1) on one of its runners, but on mobile that luxury isn't possible.

• Mobile Site

For those who do not have a compatible iOS or Android device, players can access the website via a mobile browser. The site has been optimised for mobile use, but live streaming is still unavailable to users, as it is on the dedicated apps.

It is not as functional as the app itself and can be a little clunky to use, although this could have been caused by other factors during testing. The mobile web version is quite data-hungry, so those on smaller data plans should be careful when using the web version.

In general, the mobile site does enough to give users a good overall experience, although, for best practice, I recommend its dedicated app.
