Swiss Super League Matchday 33

The Swiss Super League now has a new format where each team plays against the other 11 teams 3 times, for a total of 33 games. Afterward, the league splits into two groups of six teams, with each team playing five more games.

The 2023-24 Swiss Super League season is unlike any other in several ways. Firstly, the league has undergone a major overhaul and introduced a new format similar to the 'Scottish Model'. Additionally, the league has returned to featuring twelve teams in the top tier of Swiss football, further adding to the competition.

During the first phase, each team will take on every other team three times, leading to a total of 33 matchdays. After this, the league will be split into two groups, with six teams in each - the championship group and the relegation group. The top six teams will compete in the championship group, while the bottom six teams will battle it out in the relegation group, with home and away fixtures.

In the championship group, the top two teams will compete to determine the winner of the Swiss Super League title and secure a spot in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, in the relegation group, the team at the bottom of the table will be directly relegated, while the second-to-last-placed team will play against the Challenge League representative in the two-legged relegation playoff.
