Altenar Bet Builder
Creating a sportsbook service that can be competitive in a crowded UK market is no easy feat, but with its constantly developing bet builder function, Altenar is in position to make further strides in the online betting provider space.
Punters can now create their own wagers for NFL, MLB, and NBA matches, adding to the already popular football bet builder tool across Altenar-powered sportsbooks.
Is the NBA offering a slam dunk or a brick?
With the NBA playoffs now in full flow, there is no better time for us to test the basketball bet builder on Altenar sites such as Lottoland and Fun88.
Player prop options are more than adequate, with points, assists, rebounds, and steals markets all available for sometimes over a dozen players in a given game.
In fact, at the time of writing, I can choose props from a wider pool of athletes in the upcoming Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns game on Altenar’s bet builder than I can on Betfair or Unibet.
Those more established sites do offer more customisation as I can adjust the total number of points or rebounds I want to bet over or under, so perhaps this can be a future consideration for Altenar in order to truly become the best provider of NBA bet builders.
Interestingly, I can do this on Altenar sites for single markets. For example, I can back Chris Paul to score as little as 12+ points or as many as 28+ points, so I am hopeful that the customisable versions of these markets will be added to the bet builder for next season.
The lines for other markets such as the point spread and total points can be adjusted on the bet builder, though, so on the whole, things are looking very promising on the basketball front.
The MLB bet builder needs more work
While Altenar is on the cusp of an elite NBA bet builder, the baseball counterpart has bags of potential but is not quite ready for the major leagues.
This is due to the lack of player props on offer but having said that, this appears to be an easy fix because there are plenty listed within the Player Specials tab.
You can wager on Player Total Bases H2H, Player Strikeouts H2H, Player Total hits (customisable), and lots more, so just getting a few of these into the bet builder would really transform this offering.
By offering a baseball bet builder, Altenar have an edge over many competitors, but there is room for it to improve.
In the meantime, there are some pre-made combination bets to choose from, such as ‘Rafael Devers to have 4+ total bases, 1+ hits, and Boston to win’.
We see a strong possibility here for Altenar to rival the top dogs in the baseball bet builder category very soon.
And most importantly, what about football?
Football bet builders have become the bread and butter of online betting sites over the past five years, so much so that some players may decide which sportsbook they use purely based on the quality of the bet builder.
The great thing about Altenar sportsbooks is that you can put together a bet builder for any football match you find on the site.
Given that Altenar betting sites are absolutely stacked with football fixtures - from upwards of 15 competitions in England alone - this means that your bet builder options are better than you’ll find on many other online bookmaker websites.
And it's not just the number of leagues available that will make bet builder enthusiasts purr.
On BetVision, you can add selections such as Player Total Tackles and Player Total Passes to your wager, and crucially, you can alter the totals to suit what you want to put together. For example, you could back Jorginho to make anything from 2+ to 7+ tackles.
This level of detail is extremely impressive and it would be fantastic to see this implemented across the other sports in the near future.
There are several top betting sites that don't offer such markets, and while Altenar's offering could still improve by introducing player shots on target, offsides, and other props, they are towards the front of the pack in the race to create the perfect bet builder for football.
Understandably, the range of markets decreases as you go down the pyramid or venture into obscure leagues overseas, but generally, users will be satisfied with what is on tap.
What we want to see for the 2023 NFL season
Given the similarities between NBA and NFL bet builders (heavily reliant on player props), we are optimistic that Altenar will create a superb product for the beginning of the American football season.
A bet builder of a similar quality to the current NBA offering would be satisfactory. And by adding the possibility to customise the player prop lines and totals in the same way for NFL as it does for football (soccer), Altenar would have a potentially market-leading product on its hands.
