PlanetSport Bet's welcome offer gives new players 50% back as a free bet, if their first bet loses, to a maximum of £25. It is different from the more regular "bet and get" promotions, including the commonplace Bet £10 Get £30, however, it does make up for that with the sheer simplicity of the bonus offer, which requires the promo code: "PSB50" and minimum odds of Evens (2.0) on the first bet.

It's ultimately a win-win for the customer, giving them the opportunity to potentially place a higher odds bet, safe in the knowledge that if that bet loses, you will get half of your original stake back as a free bet and it is something a little different, away from the more regular terms offered by other bookies.

The site design may be familiar to users of PlayBook Gaming Ltd sites, such as Rhino Bet and Star Sports, with its distinct style and clean layout aiding navigation on both desktop and mobile versions of the site.

Planet Sport Bet's main hook is its ongoing promotions, with a raft of enhancements shown at the top of the homepage, although this tends to focus on free bets and top price guarantees. In terms of individual match or event boosts, players may find this lacking compared to competitors such as Betfred or BetVictor.

Despite a lack of individual enhancements, players have plenty of betting options, with their build-a-bet feature of particular note. In my punting and reviewing experience, I have rarely seen a bookie have this many markets available for a bet builder, with a Premier League contest between Man City and Everton featuring an eye-watering 100+ markets alone.

Planet Sport Bet offers other popular features that are now "de rigueur" across sportsbooks in general, with cash-out available on pre and in-play bets. At the same time, live streaming is available for UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds.

Planet Sport Bet - Cons ❌

As with any sportsbook, some minor complaints or issues can sour any user experience and Planet Sport Bet is no exception, with a handful of annoyances that may dampen the experience.

Planet Sport Bet offers a strong sportsbook option for new players, with some excellent features, but how does it stack up against other sportsbook brands?

As can be seen in the table below, Planet Sport Bet fairs very well, matching and even surpassing its rivals in mobile app and betting experience ratings.

Yes, the sign-up bonus could be better, but in my opinion, Planet Sport Bet is a worthy alternative to the bigger brand bookies.

As mentioned earlier in the review, Planet Sport Bet does some of its best work via promotions, offering a variety of enhancements, boosts and money-back offers.

Acca Bonus
Receive up to a 50% bonus on winning accas across all sports, when you bet at least £5+ or more, on 5+ selection accas. Each selection must be at least 1/5 (1.2) or greater.

Daily Horse Racing Free Bets
Receive a free bet depending on set conditions, when betting on specific meetings. These conditions can be based on a horse's finishing position, distance won, a favourite winning and more. Players who bet £20 on a qualifying race will receive a £5 free bet, and those betting £100, will receive a £20 free bet if the qualifying criteria of the race are met.

£10 Free Bet Reward
Bet 10 x £10 on sports at Evens or greater between Monday and Sunday to receive a free £10 bet on sports. Virtuals do not apply, cashed-out or voided bets also do not apply.

Virtual Loyalty Club
Place at least 5 bets totalling a minimum of £50 on virtuals and receive a free £5 bet. The offer lasts between Monday and Sunday, free bet is valid for seven days. Only virtual bets qualify.

Planet Reels

Planet Sport Bet uses software from Playbook Gaming, which as previously mentioned is also used by the likes of RhinoBet and provides a vast array of betting markets, competitive odds and a range of sports to bet upon, although a lack of e-sports betting is a disappointment.

Below, we take a look at some of the more popular sports betting options.

Planet Sport Bet offers a strong football betting experience for players, with the highlight being its bet builder, which offers over 100+ markets for top matches.

In terms of individual leagues to bet upon, Planet Sport Bet doesn't quite match some of the bigger brands in terms of range, with certain UK non-league and reserve fixtures absent, while other more obscure leagues from around the globe are also missing, but unless I specifically wanted to bet upon the Uzbeki league, there is more than enough to keep me entertained daily.

Over 100+ markets on top matches, offers a huge choice for punters

The amount of betting markets available per game was impressive, with the result, player, team, card and goal markets all available in various guises, along with Asian handicaps which is always a nice addition.

As is the case with many sportsbooks, the level of competition dictates the number of available markets, with an English Premier League match offering well over 100+ markets, compared to a Conference North match, which had around 14 available options.

A Lack of Promos/Boosts

If I were to aim once criticism at Planet Sports Bet's football offering, it is the lack of enhanced odds or price boosts. Despite a handful of ongoing free bet offers across its sportsbook rewarding loyal customers, daily price boosts at least for football seem few and far between, especially when compared to a Paddy Power or Betfred, which have numerous options every day.

Planet Sport Bet's horse racing coverage is a solid option for punters, offering live UK & Irish race streams, plus a wealth of markets for international racing around the world.

All manner of bets is available, including singles, each-way, forecasts, tricasts and system bets, while forecasts and tricasts can also be reversed, which surprisingly some bookies don't offer.

Once again, a lack of promos or boosts hurts what is a solid racing experience

The functionality of the racecards could be improved, with very basic information available regarding each runner and no Timeform or Racing Post preview either. You can see any market movements at a glance but realistically, the racecards are well behind the likes of bet365 here.

Horse racing fans at least get to enjoy a few more promos than football bettors, with at least two UK/Irish meetings offering free bets "if beaten by the SP fav" and more, although the player is required to make a £20 bet on the race to receive a £5 bet. Outside of those offers, there are very few promos, which again is disappointing.

Including football and horse racing, there are a total of 25 sports to bet upon, along with a TV/Specials market and Politics, which features such luminaries as the Oscars and the UK election.

No e-sports betting is a missed opportunity

American sports fans are well-catered for, with NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL betting, while more UK-centric sports such as tennis, cricket, darts and snooker also feature plenty of markets.

Away from these markets, there is a notable absence of e-sports betting options, with no e-sports events of any description available. This seems to be driven by Playbook Gaming's software, which is used by RhinoBet and VickersBet, with neither of those bookies hosting any e-sports betting either.

Build A Bet

For football fans looking to create their bet, the bet builder function is up there with the best of them, offering over 100+ markets on the big matches and also extremely easy to use.

When looking at betting markets for an individual match, players can click on the Build-A-Bet button, which then shows all available markets. As you add more selections, players are shown the potential payout, before adding to the betslip.

I have used many bet builders over the years, but I can honestly say that Planet Sport Bet's is one of the easiest I have ever used.

In-Play Betting

Punters at Planet Sport Bet have plenty of in-play betting options available, with football, tennis, darts, snooker and more available to bet live.

As is the case across many bookmakers, the number of markets is dependent on the sport itself and how deep into the game players or teams are. A live visualisation aids betting choices, showing where the ball is on the pitch, along with plenty of statistics, which all help to make an informed selection. 

The in-play betting function is solid and thoroughly recommended.

Cash-Out

Cash-out is available as expected, with partial cash-out also available, but only for pre-match markets, while cash-out is not available for the Build-A-Bet function, which is disappointing, with many bigger brand bookies now providing this option.

Alongside its great sportsbook, Planet Bet Sport is also home to casino games, with over 600+ slots and games, plus a live casino too.

Finding games is extremely easy, with a search function available, or players can click on one of the many headings to see games sorted by type, genre, provider and more. 

Games load instantaneously and feature plenty of options, including full-screen mode and a complete breakdown of how to play. If users enjoy the game, they can also mark it as a favourite to make navigation even easier.

Players who are looking for a little more interaction can try out the live casino, which is home to over 90+ titles, including traditional games such as Blackjack and Roulette, through to gameshow style titles, including Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Snakes & Ladders Live.

Planet Sport Bet's casino may not have the sheer number of titles that 32Red or LeoVegas hosts, but those wanting a competent casino alongside a strong sportsbook, need not look too far.

Planet Sport Bet works well on desktop devices, but their dedicated mobile app on both iOS and Android is a true gamechanger, giving the full function of its sportsbook and casino in the palm of your hand. 

Having used the app for several days, I can honestly say that I will be keeping this on my Android device for the foreseeable future, thanks to being able to bet quickly, and efficiently and even watch live racing streams too, no matter where I am.

What About Mobile Web?

For those who do not wish to install the app directly, I am pleased to say that the mobile web version of the site is well-optimised for everyday use. Its functionality is excellent, although loading speeds can be a tad slower via the browser. 

Live events and streams worked well, with little to no issues whatsoever, although those on data plans should be mindful of how data-hungry the site can be, with the app performing much better in this regard.
