AFCON 2025 Betting Guide: Best Nigerian Bookmakers to Back the Super Eagles

After the disappointment of missing out on the 2026 World Cup, the Super Eagles head to AFCON 2025 in Morocco with unfinished business.

The 2023 loss to Ivory Coast in the final was a tough one to take for Naija fans, having seen their side take an early lead thanks to William Troost-Ekong, but in the end, the tournament hosts rallied to win 2-1.

Qualification was relatively straightforward, with the home loss to Rwanda, coming after the Super Eagles had booked their place for the finals.

Since then, several managerial changes have been made, with Malian, Eric Chelle now tasked with bringing glory back to Naija. So far, the signs are promising, barring the penalty defeat to DR Congo, there have been two defeats in fourteen at the time of writing, with both coming in the African Nations Championship, which of course excludes international-based players.

Nigeria have a great opportunity to qualify as group winners, having been drawn with Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.

On paper, Tunisia offer the toughest contest, while Uganda have been a bogey team for the Super Eagles over the years, but with the top two sides and the best third placed sides moving to the knock-out stage, this should be a straightforward group to navigate.

Nigeria Record vs Group Opponents

Bookmakers expect Nigeria to qualify as group winners, with early odds of 1.83 across the likes of BetKing, BetWinner, and 1xBet at the time of writing.

Tunisia is available at 2.65 to finish top, with Tanzania and Uganda 10.00 or higher.

Winning the group will mean a match against a best third-placed team in the Round of 16, while missing out on top spot will see a potentially tougher encounter against the runner-up in Group A, which is likely to be one of Morocco, Mali, or Zambia.

Hosts Morocco are unsurprisingly the strong favourites to take the title. The Atlas Lions finished fourth at the 2022 World Cup Finals and have since lost just twice (both to South Africa), and are currently on a run of eighteen successive victories.

Egypt, Algeria and Senegal are the main challengers according to several sportsbooks, while Nigeria can be backed at a best odds of 11.00 with 1xBet and BetWinner to go one better than two years ago and claim the coveted AFCON Trophy home.

If Nigeria are going to progress deep into the tournament, Victor Osimhen’s goals will be crucial. The Galatasaray striker returned to domestic action recently, after sustaining an injury against DR Congo, playing the majority of the match, which will be a relief for Naijas everywhere.
