On paper, FItzdares' welcome offer of Bet £50 Get £25 doesn't fair so well, especially when compared to the vast majority of Bet £10 Get £30 sign-up bonuses available across many bookmakers.

However, when looking a little deeper into the promotion, the bonus is based on the percentage of your initial bet, with both a football free bet and Greyhounds free bet based on 20% of the initial deposit, thus a £2 x £10 free bets, if the full £50 has been staked. Players also receive a free £5 virtual bet, if a minimum of £5 is staked.

Although the bonus is far from the most rewarding, Fitzdares offers a solid betting experience and plenty of ongoing promotions, but many may find it difficult to look past the initial welcome offer, which is a shame.

Fitzdares began as a telephone-based betting bookie, before becoming the first UK bookmaker to provide text betting. In 2018 they released their mobile app to the public and the rest is history for this greatly independent operator

Fitzdares has a similar feel to QuinnBet, with a real focus on horse racing

The sportsbook hosts over 30+ sports and their markets, with horse racing the main focus of the site, although football, tennis and golf feature prominently too. An integrated casino is also available to players, with around 1000 titles to choose from.

The site uses a bespoke design from the talented people at FSB Tech, although there are some similarities to both QuinnBet and BetGoodwin sites in terms of the layout and how the site functions, with both of those sites praised for its UI and ease of navigation.

Fitzdares is a bookmaker synonymous with horse racing betting and this is replicated on-site, with the main homepage focused on the sport of kings.

Fitzdares - Cons ❌

As with any sportsbook, some minor complaints or issues can sour any user experience and Fitzdares isn't immune to such criticism. Here are a few things that disappointed me during my experience.

Fitzdares has been around in various guises for many years and brings with it a wealth of sports betting experience, but how does it stack up to fellow bookmakers?

Fitzdares fairs well against its competitors, without really standing out in one particular metric. A generally solid experience is available, with great odds and a solid mobile app too. 

The sign-up offer is a bit of a letdown when compared to other bookies, but those looking for a strong, racing-focused bookmaker, new players will find them hard to beat.

Free In-Play Golf Bet
Golf fans tend to be left out when it comes to promotions, but punters can grab a free in-play golf bet, when staking 5 bets pre-tournament on PGA, LIV or DP World Tour events.

Fitzdares site uses a bespoke version of the FSB Tech software which is also used at QuinnBet and BetGoodwin among others. Fitzdares offers over 30+ sports to bet upon and some of the most competitive odds around.

Like other FSB Tech-based sites, there is the odd misstep, such as the lack of a fully-fledged e-sports page. Markets are available, but they could be a little more fleshed out, which is disappointing for an up-and-coming sector of the betting industry, but otherwise, there is relatively little to complain about.

Below, we take a look at some of the more popular sports betting options and how they fare.

Fitzdares offers a solid football betting experience, with its main draw being the sheer range of matches to bet upon. 

Alongside the big guns of the EPL, Bundesliga and La Liga, Fitzdares offers lower tiers too, including Tier 7 English leagues through to regional German leagues. There are around 100 nations with markets for league/cup fixtures, so if you fancy a punt on the Aruba Division Di Honor or the Rwanda National League, you are in luck!

Top matches have over 100 markets to bet upon, including Asian handicaps

As is the case with FSB Tech bookmakers, the number of available betting markets per game was excellent, with the result, player, team, card and goal markets all available in various forms, along with Asian handicaps which is always a nice addition. Generally, if you cannot find a market at Fitzdares, it may simply not exist!

Bet Builder
Fitzdares offers a solid football bet builder, with plenty of options for matches, but it doesn't quite match up to other bookies, such as Betfred or Paddy Power in terms of the sheer scope of available markets, but there is a little room for improvement.

A Lack Of Enhancements/Boosts

Although there are a couple of money back offers, Fitzdares doesn't provide enhanced odds or boosts for football matches. 

Those looking for a price boost on a game will be disappointed by their absence, although to be fair to Fitzdares, their odds are some of the strongest available, so it is up to the punter to decide what is and isn't important.

Fitzdares began life as a telephone betting service focused on horse racing and their expertise shows, offering a wide range of race meetings outside of the UK and Ireland, along with live streaming from home meetings, plus France, the USA and even Argentina.

Fitzdares offers some of the best international race coverage around

Racecards are solid, if unspectacular, providing all the relevant information a punter could ask for, including a brief rundown of their last performance. The cards are clean and easy to read, although don't feature as much detail as those available at Bet365 for instance.

All the expected betting options are available, with forecasts, multiples and system bets available, while the option to bet without the favourite and faller insurance is also available.

For international coverage, Fitzdares has to be applauded, offering more markets than many of its competitors on foreign races, with forecast options and more available. Many bookies tend to pay lip service to international cards, with basic win or place markets, so it is nice to see the effort being made.

Overall, Fitzdares is highly recommended for race punters, with a top-notch approach and plenty of meetings to bet upon.

Along with football and horse racing, Fitzdares provides 30+ sports to bet upon, including more niche events such as Alpine Skiing and GAA (football and hurling), while politics and TV/Film markets are also available.

There is plenty to back outside of the big two sports, including niche events.

American sports fans are well-catered for, with NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL betting, while more UK-centric sports such as tennis, cricket, golf, darts and snooker also feature plenty of markets.

One area that was surprisingly lacking was the e-sports betting section, which although functional, didn't feature many events during my review. For those who enjoy e-sports betting, we would recommend Midnite as an alternative.

Create-A-Bet

Like most bookmakers, Fitzdares offers a bet builder function to their sportsbook, calling it create-a-bet. However, unlike other bet builders, this doesn't quite hit the mark as others do.

There are plenty of markets, but there are some glaring omissions, with player bets surprisingly sparse, outside of goal betting, there are no offsides, tackles, fouls or card markets among the more notable absences. By contrast to the five player markets available, Sky Bet had fifteen markets for the same EFL Championship contest.

In-Play Betting

Fitzdares' in-play betting offers a great option to players, with as many as 30+ markets available, depending on the event and the timeframe.

Football unsurprisingly benefits the most, but in-play betting is available across all manner of events, including tennis, golf, cricket, darts, NBA and NFL.

There are no real surprises here, with multiples able to be placed and cash-out options too. Overall in-play betting at Fitzdares is very good.

Cash-Out

Cash-out is available at Fitzdares across both pre-event and in-play betting and functions as expected when used. Delays are minimal, while the ability to partially cash-out is not a function available to players at this time.

Alongside the sportsbook, Fitzdares users have access to a full online casino experience too, featuring 1000+ titles to play. Featuring top slots, table games and live shows, the Fitzdares Casino is as good as any of its rivals, from the range of titles to the many promotions on offer for continuing players.

Games are split into various sections, making searching for a game type straightforward, while the player can use the search function to find a specific title. However, there is no function to search by provider, so those looking for a list of Evolution Gaming titles for instance, will find that a little more challenging.

Slots and table games load quickly and run without issue, whilst also being able to be played in full-screen mode or with muted sound. Information on how to play is readily available, although a lack of demo mode, stops curious players from trying new titles as real cash is at risk from the off.

With around 1000 games, Fitzdares Casino offers an excellent addition to the sportsbook

Fitzdares also offers an excellent live casino option, with around 100 titles to play, including Baccarat, Blackjack, Poker and Roulette, featuring friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Fans of more "game show" style titles are well-catered for too, with top games such as Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Crazy Time among regular favourites.

Fitzdares Casino not only has a solid welcome bonus (see below), but also provides ongoing players with plenty of reasons to return, with regular reload bonuses, competitions to win bonus funds or spins and Drops and Wins tournaments.

It may not offer the number of games that 32Red or LeoVegas provides, but Fitzdares Casino is a very strong alternative for players.

Fitzdares offers a dedicated mobile app for players looking to bet on the go, offering all the functionality of its desktop site on both iOS and Android.

The app uses a familiar layout to the desktop, making the finding of events and markets very easy. Generally, the user interface made placing bets a breeze, while switching between the sportsbook and casino was also seamless.

The app is functional but with the odd issue here and there

Having spent a few days with the app, I found it to be very functional but with odd issues, such as casino slots not firing up immediately, or a delay in placing a bet, although this did not happen when placing an in-play selection.

For me personally, I was satisfied with the dedicated app, but what do others think?

What About Mobile Web?

For those who would rather avoid using the dedicated mobile app, the mobile web version of the Fitzdares is a very competent alternative, with the desktop site fully optimised for use on mobile browsers.

The mobile web version of the site brings all of the desktop version's functionality, although loading speeds may vary depending on your mobile provider.

Live events and streams worked well, with little to no issues whatsoever, although those on data plans should be mindful of how data-hungry the site can be, with the app performing much better in this regard.
