Some sports betting sites will not let you claim their sign-up offers if you have already taken a welcome bonus from another sister betting site operating under the same UKGC licence.

We created this table listing all sister betting sites with sign-up offers to show which betting companies restrict you to only one welcome bonus per player and which companies let you claim every welcome bonus from every betting site they operate.

Bookies Bonuses is your Trusted Guide to UK Betting Sites

The Bookies Bonuses Mission

What we do and how we do it

Since its inception in 2009, BookiesBonuses's sole purpose has been to help punters find the best betting sites for their needs.

No matter what you're looking to bet on and which betting site you sign up with, we strive to help you find the best value possible through promotions, betting offers, competitive odds and boosts thereof.

How it started 📜

BookiesBonuses was launched by two guys in 2009, as a side project to their studies and other commitments.

The two founders, Eskil and Jens, are still involved, but they are no longer the main writers for the site. As BookiesBonuses grew into a seed for more projects over the years, they had to take on oversight roles.

The founders had a background in poker, but were also interested in sports betting. With time they realized there was no service for an easy comparison of welcome offers online.

Initially, the site was really just a product for themselves and their friends, aggregating the offers in order to compare. Over the coming years, more people found BookiesBonuses and appreciated the service it provided when looking for a good bookmaker. It became a go-to product for a lot of British punters.

In 2012, it got its first major facelift, as the two founders were joined by a developer.

In 2016, the trio decided to make the side project their full-time job and launched several similar sites in different countries. Also, at this time they realized they needed more hands on deck and recruited a new project leader for BookiesBonuses. That is when it got its second facelift.

Since English is an international language, the website also garnered interest from many other nations. To cater to these punters, information about bookmakers in these countries was also added to the site. Today, we cover 18 countries outside of the UK.

The market has changed over the years, but our goal of helping punters find a betting site for their needs remains.

What we DON'T do at Bookies Bonuses

1. We don't sugarcoat bad bookmakers

Straight talk if a bookmaker sucks or has poor features, we'll tell you out about it.

For example – some betting sites have plenty of sports, but only a handful of ways to bet on them – poor market selection.

Or... some have high wagering requirements, which means you likely won't keep much profit from your welcome bonus.

It is our duty to inform you of such caveats, so you always make an educated choice!

2. We don't leave you after the welcome offer

Existing customer bonuses are just as important in our quest to provide you with the most value.

Many mid-tier betting sites stop engaging the player after they've claimed the sign-up offer.

What makes a bookie stand out are the various bonuses and promotions you can claim time after time, weeks down the road.

So we make sure to find these valuable offers that you can claim even if you're already a registered customer.

3. We don't place bets with EVERY single bookmaker

We have thoroughly tested and deposited with the top 20 betting sites of all time listed below.

When it comes to the other couple of hundred betting sites, while we do look at what features are available, as well as what the user experience feels like, we don’t always deposit and play with every single bookmaker – though it still happens.

We believe our time is better utilised finding value and deals for you!

You can never go wrong with our top choices

There are several hundred licensed bookmakers in the UK – a lot to go through and sometimes you just need a reliable set of bookies.

With our ranking of the top 20 betting sites in the UK, which we believe are the best of all time, you are guaranteed to find a suitable and reliable bookie.

We keep a close eye on this list and only feature top-of-the-line betting sites!

👇 Click to expand each bookmaker's dropdown tab to find out exactly why we picked them! 👇

Reviews of the 20 absolute best UK betting sites

#1 Bet365

✨ Bet365 is the golden standard when it comes to high-end bookmakers.

Everyone we know uses bet365 or at least has an account with them, as the betting features and reliability of the platform have proven themselves and have stood the test of time.

From competitive odds and boosted odds, to promotions for existing customers and responsive customer support to back up the claims, bet365 has forever etched its name in the bookmaker hall of fame!

  • Website: bet365.com
  • UK License Number: 55148
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £50 Free Bet

Pros
Cons
➕ Best-in-class multiple game bet builder➖ Can appear overwhelming to beginners
➕ Top notch in-play betting➖ No Neteller or Skrill
➕ Great cashout feature
#2 Betfair

Betfair has been a very popular and respected bookmaker for over two decades.

The bookie hosts both a regular sportsbook and a betting exchange, making it a versatile and valuable tool for any punter.

I like the variety of football betting markets, and the plethora of payment methods with low deposit limits.

  • Website: betfair.com
  • UK License Number: 39439
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £50 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Two-in-one sportsbook and exchange➖ Exchange can be hard to use for beginners
➕ Terrific promotions and free-to-play games➖ No social media customer support
➕ Great selection of payment methods➖ Smaller sports get overlooked (fewer markets)
#3 Sky Bet

Sky Bet is a powerhouse when it comes to livestreaming licenses, sponsorships and everything in between.

I would recommend Sky Bet to punters looking for livestreaming and in-play betting on horse racing, football, basketball and boxing.

Sky have really put their best foot forward when it comes to market variety and competitive odds. Their promotions are nothing to sniff at either, especially their AccaFreeze feature.

  • Website: skybet.com
  • UK License Number: 38718
  • Sign-Up Offer: Place Any Bet Get £30 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Livestreaming rights for football, horse racing, boxing and others➖ Only debit cards and Apple Pay - removed support for PayPal and GPay
➕ Many free-to-play games➖ Asian handicap rarely available
➕ Easy to find boosted odds and early payout markets
#4 Parimatch

Parimatch's presence is not limited to the UK, as the bookmaker is reputable in other countries as well.

Being the official betting partner of Nottingham Forest and Leicester City has further affirmed their legitimacy and shown how seriously they take the betting.

Parimatch offers a wide range of sports and leans into esports for some of its promotions and livestreams. What stands out are the in-play field visualisations with unique 3D graphics.

In addition, the bookie offers many ways to get in touch with them from live chat, email, phone call, to Facebook and X.

  • Website: parimatch.co.uk
  • UK License Number: 39576
  • Sign-Up Offer: Up to £60 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Welcome offers for football, esports, and sports in general➖ Livestreaming is very limited
➕ Promo to 'Lengthen the odds' for horse racing➖ Withdrawals can take a while
➕ Asian handicaps, cards & corners are ubiquitous options➖ Not the strongest casino-wise
#5 BetUK

BetUK changed for the better in 2018, when LeoVegas's parent company took over and made significant improvements.

The bookmaker features a number of sportsbook promotions, but usually the free bet amounts are on the lower side (think £3£5 a week).

They do shine in the free-to-play department though, with their football 'Builder 6' and horse racing 'Racing Six' predictor games.

  • Website: betuk.com
  • UK License Number: 39198
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Bet builder and Asian Lines features are very easy to use➖ Limited payment methods (debit, PayPal, Apple/Google Pay)
➕ A ton of markets for football, racing, tennis, baseball, basketball➖ Promotions could be more enticing
➕ Fantastic betting app
#6 Kwiff

Kwiff is not by any means the oldest of bookmakers on this list, but it is definitely not one to skimp over.

Instead of competing with the big dogs for the highest odds, or flashiest betting features, they do one thing right – create excitement and tension.

You see, the trick is any bet you place can be boosted, i.e. 'Kwiffed', which is the theme throughout the site.

  • Website: kwiff.com
  • UK License Number: 44448
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Any bet can be boosted➖ No bet builder
➕ Reliable customer support➖ No social media customer support
➕ Smooth site navigation➖ Limited payment methods
#7 BoyleSports

BoyleSports is another flagship bookmaker that has been around since '82.

The daily extra places for horse racing are just the icing on the cake for Boyle – there are promotions running for most of the popular sports.

Livestreaming, clean website design, intuitive navigation and responsive customer support are all things that come to mind, when talking about the bookie.

  • Website: boylesports.com
  • UK License Number: 39469
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £20 in Free Bets (+ £10 Casino Bonus)

Pros
Cons
➕ Packed with promotions (for plenty of sports)➖ Some neat promos only available in a physical BoyleSports shop
➕ Competitive odds with daily boosts➖ No Asian handicap for football
➕ Livestreaming is available (once you register)
#8 LiveScore Bet

LiveScore Bet, as the name suggests, focuses greatly on in-play betting and provides livestreaming options for plethora of events.

There is no shortage of sports to choose from and most have at least a few markets to bet on – so they've earned my blessing.

That said, LiveScore also has a straightforward bet builder, which I appreciate for its ample betting options and ease of use.

  • Website: livescorebet.com
  • UK License Number: 56859
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Great market variety for major football matches➖ Only debit cards and PayPal available as payment methods
➕ Free-to-enter prize drops➖ Not all matches get Asian handicap as an option
➕ Fast website and optimised mobile app
#9 Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes, known among UK punters as a go-to for football betting achieved its fame and rose to glory by providing a splendid depth of markets and options.

The bet builder is elaborate, but simple to use, and there are many pre-made options, if you're not sure what to choose.

The bookie serves many price odds and offers early payouts for most matches.

Horse racing fans will be delighted with Ladbrokes, as they've gone the extra mile for racing markets and options to punt on.

  • Website: ladbrokes.com
  • UK License Number: 54743
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £5 Get £25 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Plenty of promos + free predictor game + free prize raffles➖ Asian handicaps are rarely offered
➕ Great choice for football and horse racing➖ Most niche sports have limited markets
➕ Accepts a ton of payment methods➖ Withdrawals can be slow
#10 Virgin Bet

Virgin Bet is a bookmaker by the parent company Virgin, which is prevalent in many areas in the UK.

The bookie stands out with a range of sports, depth of markets for most major sports and plenty of promotions to keep punters happy.

The website design has largely remained the same since its launch, so there is room to improve on that front.

The mobile apps for iOS and Android are fast and perform as expected.

#11 William Hill

William Hill is typically among one of the first betting sites UK punters sign up to, largely due to its popularity.

And that popularity is justified with the consistency they've displayed throughout the years.

That consistency has manifested in the form of reliable customer support, always competitive odds, constantly featuring boosted odds on popular events and last but not least, always trying to serve the players first.

➕ Splendid horse racing betting markets➖ Seldomly pages need to be refreshed to work
➕ Supports a lot of payment methods (including Revolut)
#12 BetVictor

BetVictor is another great bookmaker that has made its name in the UK.

Widely recognised by punters for their football markets and their frequent promotions for a raft of sports, BetVictor doesn't disappoint.

In fact, it is worth mentioning that BetVictor and Parimatch share a license, and are operated by BV Gaming Limited, so any new updates and features will likely be available on both sites.

This wouldn't stop you from claiming both welcome offers, however, as the terms and conditions allow it.

#13 Betfred

Betfred is an age-old bookmaker with tonnes of experience in the UK market.

They're well-known for their football and horse racing markets and promotions, and are ideal for most punters' needs.

While some variety in the promotions department wouldn't hurt, Betfred absolutely is a solid choice of a betting site.

  • Website: betfred.com
  • UK License Number: 39544
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £50 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Plenty of odds boosts➖ Some niche sports have few markets
➕ Great customer support➖ Mostly football and horse racing promos
➕ Plenty of payment options
#14 Betway

Betway is a very popular bookmaker across Europe. They've achieved this fame by being really good at what they do and by being official sponsors to different club (currently West Ham United in the EPL).

Apart from the usual major sports, Betway leans heavily into esports and is one of the best in the business in that category.

  • Website: betway.com
  • UK License Number: 39372
  • Sign-Up Offer: Up to £30 Matched Free Bet + 100 Free Spins

Pros
Cons
➕ Free bet club runs weekly➖ No Asian handicaps
➕ Free-to-play games for football & horse racing➖ Not the best sign-up offer
➕ Simple website navigation, and good betting app➖ Horse racing markets can be improved
#15 PaddyPower

PaddyPower ranks highly in the hearts of passionate punters, as the bookie combines their experience with constant innovation.

Paddy is known to offer a variety of promotions to new and existing customers alike.

Horse racing is definitely a strong suit of the bookie, as the numerous markets and options go to prove.

PaddyPower also found a way to keep their community engaged with different features, such as 'Beat The Drop' or unique boosted odds.

  • Website: paddypower.com
  • UK License Number: 38939
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £5 Get £20 in Free Bets

Pros
Cons
➕ Superb depth of markets for major sports➖ Niche sports get few markets
➕ Promotions are always fun and interesting➖ Asian handicaps not offered frequently
➕ Instant debit card withdrawals➖ Limited livestreaming
#16 Betano

Betano is one of the most modern-looking betting sites in the UK at this time.

The bookie offers a sleek sportsbook with high speeds on both desktop and mobile, as well as superb mobile apps for iOS and Android.

The sports selection and the available odds thereof are nothing short of brilliant, with corners, cards and Asian handicaps available for matches left and right.

What really takes the cake, though, are thought-out navigation elements – it feels like everything is easy to find, while features like the bet builder, accumulator and cash out are a click (or tap) away.

  • Website: betano.co.uk
  • UK License Number: 39576
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £5 Get £30 in Bonuses

Pros
Cons
➕ Very modern and optimised site➖ Few payment methods
➕ Plenty of boosted odds and various promotions➖ More promotions would be nice
➕ Customer support can be reached in all imaginable ways➖ Some sports need more betting options
#17 Unibet

Unibet has been huge on the international stage for quite a while.

Their polished, user-friendly product is beloved by many, myself included.

Things that come to mind, when describing Unibet to my mates, are – competitive odds, helpful customer support, plenty of ways to deposit and livestreams.

Like all other bookies on this list, this one also offers casino and poker at a high level, with plenty of games and free spins to entertain punters.

  • Website: unibet.co.uk
  • UK License Number: 45322
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £40 in Bet Bonuses

Pros
Cons
➕ Well-made website navigation➖ Cannot request a bet for any sport
➕ Refer-a-friend programme➖ Some winning players have reported being limited
➕ Fast and helpful customer support
#18 Coral

Coral is a powerhouse of a bookmaker – the welcome offer has the very low deposit requirement of only £5, the sports are plethora and the odds are competitive enough to make rivals jealous.

Of course, every coin has two sides, and there are definitely things I would improve in the bookmaker. For instance, the sign-up free bet would be amazing, were it possible to split it into smaller wagers.

There is also the fact that some niche sports haven't received the love they deserve, as markets for those are limited to 'winner' only.

However, with plenty of promotions, free-to-play games, boosted odds, bet insurances and more, Coral more than balances its shortcomings.

  • Website: coral.co.uk
  • UK License Number: 54743
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £40 Free Bet

Pros
Cons
➕ Strong in the promotions department (+ free 'Shake up' rewards daily)➖ Welcome offer is one whole stake of £20
➕ Elite horse racing & greyhounds markets➖ Desktop navigation can be improved
➕ Football ACCA promos➖ Perhaps too focused on UK events
#19 LeoVegas

LeoVegas is quite a popular betting site in the UK and abroad alike.

They boast one of the best betting apps out there and their sportsbook, powered by Kambi, provides top-notch betting markets and competitive odds.

The bookie does lack on the livestreaming side of things, as livestreams are rare, even for esports games.

LeoVegas also offers a strong casino side, which just like the sportsbook doesn't leave much to be desired.

  • Website: leovegas.co.uk
  • UK License Number: 39198
  • Sign-Up Offer: Up to 100% Extra Profit Boost

Pros
Cons
➕ Very experienced bookmaker➖ Few sports promotions
➕ Fast and capable customer support➖ Rarely livestreaming
➕ Website navigation is intuitive
#20 Spreadex

Spreadex can definitely fly under the radar of many novice punters, for its seemingly complicated interface.

Although spread betting is an option (and the site's focus) one can still easily use Spreadex as a normal sportsbook with fixed odds and benefit from all the various betting markets.

The promotions aren't the best or the most interesting, but there are some shiny gems in there, such as 'Lucky double odds', '2nd to a rag insurance' as well as 'Boost your ACCA winnings'.

  • Website: spreadex.com
  • UK License Number: 8835
  • Sign-Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £40 in Bet Bonuses

Pros
Cons
➕ Fantastic depth of betting markets➖ Limited payment methods
➕ Livestreaming for plenty of events➖ Confusing to beginners
➕ Phone customer service is knowledgeable➖ Site looks outdated

The most extensive list of UK betting sites and welcome offers

We scrutinise the top 20 brands closely, but we also know that a lot of you are looking for the longest complete list of betting sites in the UK market.

That's why we made the largest UK bookmaker directory that features both bookmakers and their welcome offers in one place!

Always the latest available welcome offers

How we do it?

Stan Miller
Stan Miller - Betting Sites Expert

Our team scans the market for new bonuses and newly launched betting sites weekly.

In addition, the team is in constant contact with the bookies, so they email us when they change their offers. You will find them right away on our betting offers page.

When we find the newest betting sites we first write a review on them, sharing our honest opinion and impressions. Then we link the new review on this page, as well as on our list of all UK betting sites, so you can easily find it.

We check how likely a betting site's sign-up offer is to benefit you and if the bookmakers actually give good deals, or whether they promote low-quality bonuses that have no chance of being properly claimed. This way you are not lured in with a flashy promotion, just to sign up to an "impossible-to-win" welcome bonus.

Daily and weekly betting promotions

Finding all unique betting promotions among hundreds of bookies can seem like a daunting task. Luckily, we look for cool promotions all of time and list them for you.

  • Our close-knit network allows us to be one of the first to find out when promotions drop – these can be for new and existing customers alike.
  • Daily promotions may include extra places for horse racing or boosted odds for an upcoming football match.
  • Weekly promotions may include boosted odds for the US Open, a bookie running a limited-time campaign for a boxing match, F1 race or an upcoming tennis tournament.
  • Ongoing promotions include free-to-play predictor games, free bet clubs and many others.

Betting Guides and Resources

Whether you're looking for the newest betting site, or simply which are the top bet builder sites, or a guide to Asian handicap betting, we have guides to help you navigate the betting scene.

What is the best betting site for football?

The best football betting site is Betfair, at least according to our experts. They offer plenty of football price boosts, along with an excellent #oddsonthat request a bet feature that is second to none.

Betfair offers plenty of top football markets, including Asian handicaps too, while their bet builder is one of the best around and available in-play too. Along with regular top leagues and tournaments, Betfair does a great job of offering less popular leagues and football tournaments too, with everything from South America to regional Australian leagues covered.

Players can also find the best odds around on the Betfair Exchange too, with players able to bet against other players, meaning odds are usually stronger than the regular sportsbook too.

Our top seven football betting sites are:

  1. Betfair - Get the best odds on the Exchange
  2. Bet365 - Best live betting and bet builder options
  3. BetVictor - Fantastic in-play odds boosts
  4. Betway - Weekly free bet club
  5. BoyleSports - Various bet builder offers
  6. Sky Bet - Superb for livestreaming
  7. Ladbrokes - Innovative 5-A-Side betting feature

What is the best betting site for horse racing?

We currently have ranked PaddyPower, Betfair and SkyBet in the top three positions on our horse racing betting sites page. They are the best betting sites for horse racing in our opinion, offering the most betting markets available and featuring plenty of markets to bet on.

PaddyPower is what we consider the cream of the crop, as the bookie is hyper-focused on horse races, offers daily extra places for them and many promotions to go along.

While not ranked the highest, Bet365 also really push the boat out when it comes to markets and promotions, with regular features such as enhanced pricing, each-way extra, and their ITV racing price promise giving users plenty to like. An ability to add runners to a list makes keeping track of favourite horses much easier, while the option of being able to watch any of the last five runs a horse has made in the UK & Ireland is great for garnering extra information before making a selection.

Our top 5 horse racing betting sites are:

  1. PaddyPower - Watch race replays easily for each horse
  2. Betfair - Unique #OddsOnThat wagers
  3. Sky Bet - Daily RequestABet & Tipster Specials
  4. Betway - Integrated Timeform analysis
  5. BoyleSports - ACCA boost or insure if one horse loses

What is the best betting site for esports?

Bet365 and Betway are among the best betting sites for esports, offering a dedicated section for esports events on their site, with over 10 different games and live streaming of events too. They clearly see esports as the future of betting and Betway has even sponsored teams over recent years.

Betway’s dedication to esports markets is highlighted by their Free Bet Club, which gives users a free £10 bet if certain criteria are met when betting on esports.

Although there are plenty of esports betting sites around, Bet365 and Betway stand above the rest with little extras such as odds boosts on certain events or matches, plus the ability to bet in-play and cash-out bets too.

What online betting site has the best odds?

The Betfair Exchange provides the best odds available for users. This is because exchange bets are placed against other players, rather than the sportsbook, which allows a smaller margin to be taken by the bookmaker, which is passed on to the player in the way of higher odds.

Bookies Bonuses features a further three bookmakers that are home to betting exchanges, which will in general provide better odds than a sportsbook.

For players looking to avoid using betting exchanges, our recommended sportsbook with the best pricing is BoyleSports, although any number of betting sites that have a Best Price Guarantee on horse racing and greyhound racing have players covered completely, meaning that you will not miss out on the best price available.

What is the best UK betting site for beginners?

We recommend using BetUK, LiveScore Bet, or Sky Bet if you are a beginner. BetUK has a comprehensive sportsbook and great welcome offer, LiveScore Bet uses modern and responsive software while Sky Bet has excellent support on top of well-priced odds.

Our top 7 betting sites for beginners are:

  1. BetUK - Lucrative bonus to get you started
  2. LiveScore Bet - Particularly easy site and app to use
  3. Sky Bet - Football and racing markets easy to find
  4. Grosvenor - Earn a weekly free bet
  5. Kwiff - You may get your odds supercharged
  6. BetVictor - Betfinder tool to help you navigate
  7. Ladbrokes - Old school, trusted bookie
What mistakes should I avoid as a beginner?

Here are our top 5 mistakes to avoid when betting online as a novice:

1. Missing Out on the Sign-Up Offer

Missing out on a betting sign-up offer is basically like missing out on a chance to get a few quid for free.

There are several reasons why you may miss out on a bookmaker's sign-up bonus.

The first is that you either don't know it exists or you forget about it and let it expire. You can always check your active bonuses in the Account section of your profile, here it will also show relevant bonus conditions like expiry time, minimum odds, or any wagering requirements.

Not fulfilling bonus conditions can also cause you to lose your bonus for example you need to place your first bet with a minimum stake of £10, on an outcome with a minimum of 1/2 odds or you may need to re-bet your deposit bonus several times before you can withdraw the winnings.

Some bonuses require you to opt in by ticking a box when signing up while others, like the Rhino Bet sign-up offer are only available to Bookies Bonuses users - be sure to watch out for these requirements when signing up.

Another reason you may miss out on a sign-up offer is if you already have an account with that betting site or a betting site owned by the same parent company. Or if someone in your household has already claimed the bonus you're trying to get.

2. Betting Without a Plan

People bet for different reasons. It may be around big events when their mates are, to add excitement when watching sports, they may be professionals or they may even be insiders betting when they're not supposed to be.

Being honest with yourself and recognising the reason why you bet is important because it will help you set boundaries and place smart bets that you can enjoy or justify, whether they're succesful or not.

Generally, it's advised to bet on events you know a least something about, this will help you to avoid spending all of your winnings on table tennis markets because that's the only thing in play when you're online.

Having a plan also means deciding before you start playing how much you're willing to lose. Setting these kinds of boundaries is important when you get the undeniable urge to deposit again.

3. Only Betting on One Market

There are many more options than straight Match Result or Win bets at online betting sites today.

Do you think that a match will be low-scoring? Why not bet that there will be under 2.5 goals?

Not sure if a horse will win or place? Back them Each Way.

Your favourite player is on a roll? Back him to score or have over 2.5 shots on target.

The reason why so many betting options exist is so they can cover many of the different ways an event can unfold. Understanding just some of these will likely make finding your bets more exciting and can often make your betting more profitable.

4. Cashing Out

The Cash Out function has a time and a place but it's often a trap for rookies to lose their edge.

When you cash out of a bet, the bookmaker offers you a smaller payout than what you would get if you let the bet settle, but you have the guarantee of a payout.

The thing is, the price offered when cashing out is always less than the price you would get if you placed a second bet at the current odds. This means that the bookmaker also takes a margin on the cash out price so you are never getting the real price for your cashed-out bet.

In a simplified example, let's say that you bet £10 on a team paying 1/1. Your potential payout is therefore £20. The team you bet on is winning 1-0 at halftime, and the odds have dropped to 1/3. The bookmaker offers you £12.50 to cash out of your bet. However, in reality, they should be offering you £13.33 (which is the payout if you backed the team now, at 1/3 odds).

Most professional bettors avoid cashing out for this reason although if you're not planning to bet often it may still be worth cashing out and guaranteeing your winnings.

5. Not Asking for Help

Betting does not have to be, and often shouldn't be done alone.

If you're not sure what to bet on, there are hundreds of tips sites out there with sports fans and experts that analyse matches, or help you learn how to analyse matches making you a smarter bettor.

If you can't find your way around a betting site, or you are having trouble understanding a certain feature or sign-up offer then you can turn to sites like Bookies Bonuses or even the live chat support of your chosen bookmaker.

If you find yourself betting more than you want to be, or are not telling your friends or family about your betting because you're embarrassed, then you might want to talk to someone. www.gambleaware.org is a great place to start.

What sports betting site has the best bet builder?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, bet365 is the undisputed king of the bet builder and therefore the best betting site with a bet builder. This is thanks in-part to the expansion of its bet builder into other sports, including tennis and even NFL matches now.

Bet365 ranks at the very top of our best bet builder sites list thanks to the range of sports it now covers, which includes staples like football, but also basketball too and with the extra option of being able to combine bet builders into an accumulator, the variation and options available are second to none.

Which UK betting sites accept PayPal?

There are around 50+ betting sites that accept PayPal, with major betting brands such as Betfair, BetVictor, Paddy Power, BoyleSports, and many more supporting this e-wallet option, which allows for more secure payment processing.

There are some outliers, such as Sky Bet, which do not support the payment method, but for a list of the best PayPal betting sites visit our dedicated page.

Which UK betting sites accept credit cards?

No UK betting site accepts the use of credit cards in any form. This option was banned by the UK Gambling Commission on April 14th, 2020 following a review of practices and social responsibility by the UK Government.

Which UK betting sites have instant withdrawals?

The vast majority of bookmakers offer the ability for instant withdrawals, see our list of the best instant withdrawal betting sites for all of your best options. Quite simply, any bookmaker that offers Visa Fast Funds / Visa Direct, Neteller, Skrill, or PayPal payment methods, automatically means that players can withdraw funds instantly.

Using a debit/bank card with Visa Fast Funds/Visa Direct available will mean that withdrawals are processed within 2 hours. Usually, this will be quicker, but bookmakers use this timescale as a general rule.

Those using e-wallets such as PayPal, Neteller, and Skrill for withdrawals, should receive their funds immediately, although this will be returned to the users' wallet, rather than their bank account.

Which online betting sites have the lowest minimum deposit amount?

In general, the minimum amount a player can deposit is £5 for the vast majority of bookmakers. This also covers several sign-up bonus offers, with the following all offering a deposit bonus off of an initial £5 deposit:

  • Ladbrokes (Bet £5 - Get £20)

  • Coral (Bet £5 - Get £20)

  • Betfair (Bet £5 - Get £20)

  • Tote (Bet £5 - Get £20)

  • Dazn Bet (Bet £5 - Get £5 + 10 free spins)

Which sports betting sites offer cash out?

There are well over 50+ betting sites that offer cash-out, with our most recommended betting site for cash-out, being Betfair, which offers partial cash-out and automatic cash-out alongside the more straightforward option.

Among the larger brands that also offer cash-out, we have bet365, Ladbrokes, BetUK, Betway, BetVictor, and Betfred. For further details, view our best cash-out betting sites list here.

Which UK betting site has the best betting app?

The Betway betting app is arguably the best around for both iOS and Android devices. Players can log-in with either face ID or biometrics for quick access, while the app itself features a well-designed interface and all the features available on its desktop version.

What elevates the Betway app above the other best betting apps we reccommend, is its live streaming, which isn’t always available on other apps, 24/7 live support, and one of the most straightforward betting experiences available on a mobile device.

How many online betting sites are there in the UK?

As of September 2024, Bookies Bonuses lists over 200 betting sites available in the UK, all licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

How do online betting sites work?

Betting sites offer users a safe and secure opportunity to place a bet on the outcome or result of an event, usually a sporting contest, online and without the need to visit a licenced betting shop.

Players cannot just place a bet on a betting site, so to participate, users have to register with the betting site they wish to use, giving personal and payment details as required by the company.

Once a player has signed-up, they are then able to deposit funds to their betting account and gamble on any event that has an available market.

Placing a bet is simple, with a list of various markets available to bet upon. Popular markets include:

  • Outrights (result of an entire event or match)

  • Win-draw-win (outcome of a football match for instance)

  • Over/Under (predicting if a specific stat will be higher or lower than a specified amount)

  • Doubles (predicting the winner in two different events

  • First Scorer (selecting the player to score a goal/try/point first in the match)

  • Accumulator (predict the outcome of more than two matches or events)

The bookmaker provides various odds on the event(s) happening, which can be very small or large dependent on the event.

If a player places a bet and the outcome results in a win, the player will receive their original stake back, plus the amount of winnings calculated by the odds. So for instance, if a £1 bet is placed at odds of 2/1, the user will receive £3 back in total (£2 as winnings and £1 as a returned stake).

Once a bet has been settled (the event has finished), winning funds are returned to the players betting account, with the potential to withdraw winnings, if they wish to.

Players can withdraw winnings to their relevant payment method, although most bookmakers require a minimum of £5 to be withdrawn, due to processing costs.

How do I verify my online betting site account?

Verifying a betting account can be a frustrating process, but ultimately is one that protects both the user and the bookmaker. To verify your account, users can usually upload an image of a passport or driving license, while other items such as bank statements or utility bills can also be used, depending on the information required. This whole process is generally known as Know Your Customer (KYC).

The verification process actually begins on sign-up, with personal details such as age and address able to be verified via the electoral register, although if these details are unavailable, then a request for further information may be requested straight away.

Further verification helps bookmakers identify problem gamblers, who have self-excluded and checks for potential fraudulent behaviour too.

Most betting sites’ verification processes are straightforward. Using Ladbrokes as an example, players simply:

  • Log in to theirr account.
  • Navigate to “My Account” section.
  • Select Verification Centre.
  • Select Verify.
  • Upload the requested documents.
Why do betting sites restrict accounts?

Betting sites can restrict accounts for many different reasons. These can include a lack of or wrong verification details, suspicious/fraudulant activity, bonus abuse, large betting on niche sports, unusual betting patterns, and more.

For the majority of players, the likelihood of having your account restricted is likely because the documents uploaded for verification were not correct or inconclusive. If this is the case, it is easy to contact the bookmakers’ customer service team via web chat to address the problem and remove the restrictions.

How do I know if a UK betting site is legal?

Bookies Bonuses only lists betting sites that are licensed for betting operations. This license is given by the relevant national gambling authority of the country in question.

In the UK, all betting sites have to be licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and adhere to strict policy rules that can be changed by or on behalf of the UK Government.

If a betting site is not listed here, then chances are that it is not currently licensed for UK players.

Can you use foreign betting sites in the UK?

Many bookmakers are available outside of the UK and they do allow users to access them, however, it is not advised to do so, as they are not regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and thus any legal protections UK players should have, will not be available.

That's why Bookies Bonuses only list betting sites available in the UK, with all sites adhering to the strict rules and regulations set by the UK Gambling Commission.

I want to find online betting sites in my native country?

If you are one of the many visitors to Bookies Bonuses that reside outside of the UK, check out our nation-specific pages below detailing all the betting sites available to you in your country of residence, along with helpful information to get the best out of your betting experience, no matter where you are in the world.

For players looking to bet on football, QuinnBet is the best betting site for promotions. QuinnBet has around nine different promotions across football betting markets, along with enhanced pricing and specials too.

Alternatively, if a player is more orientated towards horse racing, then Betfair is recommended, thanks to its plethora of racing promotions, great odds available on the exchange, and overall strong service.

And finally, if you are looking for free bets, then we recommend Sky Bet, which offers its Sky Bet Club that provides players with a free bet each week if certain criteria are met. This is a great option for bettors of sports in general, with the various ways of qualifying for free bets.

Overall, deciding which betting site offers the best promotions, can be based on several factors, including the sport a player is most likely to bet upon, as well as what type of bonus they are looking for.

Can you claim a sports and online casino bonus from the same betting site?

No, accounts are only allowed to claim a new sign-up offer once from the same site, meaning that you cannot sign-up for a betting offer at say Paddy Power and then go and claim a casino offer from them afterwards. Many bookmakers will restrict addresses to one single account, which in turn makes it more difficult to get around this.

This is classed as bonus abuse and is against a bookmaker's T&Cs. Players who try to circumvent this by opening another account would not be allowed to, as they already have an account, while anyone potentially giving false details would also be in breach of T&Cs and would therefore be caught almost immediately.

Why didn’t I get a betting site sign-up offer?

There are many reasons for not qualifying for a sign-up offer. This can range from the minimum odds, deposit, or wagering amount not being met, to a player using a deposit method that is excluded from qualifying for the bonus, such as e-wallets.

Other common reasons for not getting a betting site sign-up offer include not 'opting in', trying to claim a restricted bonus from a bookmakers' sister site, or not using an official link when a sign-up offer is only available for players coming from affiliate sites like Bookies Bonuses (eg. the Rhino Bet sign-up offer is only available to players who click on a button from Bookies Bonuses).

When signing up for a welcome bonus, it is imperative that a player reads the T&Cs on how to qualify, with small important details easily missed and causing a player to fail to qualify for the bonus.
